President, North America
Todd Bastean assumed his current role in January 2018. He started his career at Bunge in 1994, becoming CFO of Bunge North America in 2010 and CEO of Bunge North America in 2013. He also served as vice president and general manager of the operating company's milling and biofuels business units, and as vice president and chief administrative officer of its grain and milling business units. He also held positions in strategic planning and auditing. Prior to joining Bunge he worked for KPMG Peat Marwick. Mr. Bastean holds a bachelor's of science degree in accounting from Western Illinois University.
Vice president, Legal, Human Resources and Communications
Greg Billhartz is vice president, Legal, Human Resources and Communications for Bunge’s North American region. He joined the company in January 2018.
He has extensive experience at food and ag-related companies, most recently serving as executive vice president, chief financial officer and general counsel of Maschhoff Family Foods, LLC. Prior to that, he served as corporate vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Ralcorp Holdings, Inc., overseeing the company's legal, compliance and human resource functions.
Prior to working as corporate counsel, Mr. Billhartz was an associate at the Bryan Cave law firm and was a senior consultant for the accounting firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and his law degree from St. Louis University. He is also a certified public accountant.
Jamey Henne was named industrial director for Bunge North America in January 2017. He oversees all industrial operations in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. with all business unit operations, safety, engineering, quality, and environmental reporting to him. Mr. Henne joined Bunge in 2016 as vice president of operations for the Oilseed Value Chain. Before joining Bunge, he spent most of his 23 year career at Cargill, Inc. most recently serving as vice president, grain and oilseed supply chain in North America. Mr. Henne earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from North Dakota State University.
General Manager, Milling & Managing Director, Mexico
Daniel Maldonado was named general manager of Bunge North America’s Milling unit in January 2017 in addition to the position of managing director, Mexico that he has held since 2013. He joined Bunge in 2000 as freight and strategic planning manager in the Miami office. He moved to Geneva, Switzerland as deputy director of global freight before returning to Miami as vice president and general manager of Bunge Latin America in 2007. He was promoted to vice president, fertilizer for Bunge Brazil in 2011.
Mr. Maldonado earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia and his master’s degree in international business from New Hampshire College.
Senior Vice President, Agribusiness and Oilseed Value Chain
Andrés Martín was named senior vice president, Agribusiness and Oilseed Value Chain for Bunge’s North America region in May 2018.
Mr. Martín started his professional career in agribusiness in Brazil in 1996, working for the Swiss group Andre, as a soybean trader. He later moved to Portugal to work as a crush manager for the same group. Mr. Martín joined Bunge’s European operations in 2001, holding different commercial and risk management roles in Spain, Italy and England, before becoming the European Product Line manager for soybeans. In 2009 he moved to the U.S., where he was the Global Protein Product Line manager for Bunge, based in White Plains, N.Y. In 2011 he moved to St. Louis, Mo., to serve as general manager for the U.S. crush business. He returned to Europe in 2014 where he served as CEO/vice president of the European Southern Region, responsible for the business in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Turkey.
Mr. Martín earned his undergraduate degree in business administration and his MBA from the University of ESADE in Barcelona.
Chief Financial Officer, North America
Luciano Salvatierra was named Chief Financial Officer for Bunge’s North American region in January 2018. He leads financial planning & analysis, risk, and business development and oversees the regional finance groups including, tax, treasury, controllers, procurement and IT.
Mr. Salvatierra joined Bunge in 2004 as a strategic and business planning manager, risk manager for Bunge's Brazilian fertilizer business. From 2012 to 2014 he held the position of corporate director of finance and analysis planning for Bunge Limited before taking the position of CFO of Mexico in 2014.
He graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro with a degree in chemical engineering and holds a master’s degree in corporate finance from the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets.
