Carl Hausmann
President and CEO — Bunge North America
Mr. Hausmann was appointed president and CEO of Bunge North America beginning January 5, 2004. Mr. Hausmann joined Bunge as president and CEO of Bunge Europe following the acquisition of a majority stake of Cereol S.A. by Bunge in 2002. He formerly held chief executive positions with Cereol S.A., Eridania Béghin-Say, Cereol Europe and Central Soya. He began his career in the agro-industrial industry in 1978 at Continental Grain, where he worked in South America, Europe, Africa, and the United States. Mr. Hausmann is a past president of Fediol, the European association of oilseed crushers. He received a B.S. in business from Boston College and an M.B.A from INSEAD.
Michael M. Scharf
Senior Vice President and CFO — Bunge North America
Michael M. Scharf is Senior Vice President and CFO of Bunge North America and has served in that position since joining Bunge in 1990. Mr. Scharf received a bachelor’s degree from Wheeling Jesuit University in 1969 and is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining Bunge, Mr. Scharf served as Senior Vice President and CFO at Peabody Holding Co. (1978-90) and Tax Manager at Arthur Andersen & Co. (1969-78).
John L. "Larry" Clarke
Executive Vice President — Bunge North America
John L. "Larry" Clarke was named Executive Vice President of Bunge North America in October 2006 and is responsible for grain, oilseed processing, biofuels and transportation. Mr. Clarke joined Bunge in 1983 as a merchant at the company’s facility in Marks, Miss. He has held various trading and management positions, including overseeing all export and domestic sales of soybean meal, hulls and oil for Bunge North America. He served as General Manager of Bunge’s operations in Canada and was most recently Senior Vice President and General Manager of Bunge Oilseed Processing. Mr. Clarke received bachelor degrees in Agricultural Economics and Business Statistics and Data Processing from Mississippi State University in 1983. He graduated from Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program in 2007.
Fred W. Luckey
Executive Vice President — Bunge North America
Fred W. Luckey was named Executive Vice President of Bunge North America in October 2006 and is responsible for milling and oils operations, procurement and the industrial management organization. Mr. Luckey received a bachelor’s degree from Cameron University in 1970. Since joining Bunge in 1982, Mr. Luckey has held various trading and management positions in the company’s oilseed processing and grain units in several locations in the United States. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Bunge Milling. Prior to joining Bunge, Mr. Luckey held various trading and management positions at Goldkist (1976-1982). From 1970-1976, he held a number of management positions in the retail sector, most notable with Sears Roebuck & Co.
David G. Kabbes
Senior Vice President, Corporate and Legal Affairs — Bunge North America
David G. Kabbes is Senior Vice President, Corporate and Legal Affairs of Bunge North America serving as General Counsel as well as overseeing government and industry affairs and communications. Mr. Kabbes received a bachelor’s degree from Quincy University in 1984 and a law degree from the University of Illinois in 1987. Prior to joining Bunge in 2000, Mr. Kabbes served as Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel at Purina Mills (1999-2000), Corporate Attorney at Koch Industries, Inc. (1997-1999), Partner at Schiff Hardin & Waite (1991-1997) and Associate at Thompson Coburn (1987-1991).
Philip W. Staggs
Senior Vice President Human Resources — Bunge North America
Philip W. Staggs is Senior Vice President Human Resources of Bunge North America and has served in that position since joining Bunge in 1999. Mr. Staggs received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama in 1969. Prior to joining Bunge, Mr. Staggs has held various management positions in human resources at Trevira (1996-99), Hoechst Celanese (1981-96), Vulcan Materials (1977-81) and 3M Company (1969-77).
